The Trackless Batten System - Ronstan's unique Ballslide™ batten car systems make raising and lowering the mainsail quick and easy. Captive ball cars run against the rear surface of the mast, eliminating the need for a track. This provides significant weight and cost savings over a traditional mast track system. Series 8 Ballslide™ cars typically suit monohulls to 18m (60ft) LOA or sail area 60m² (646ft²). Due to the higher righting moment on catamarans and multihulls, Series 8 Ballslide™ cars are generally suitable up to 13m (43ft) LOA or sail area 48m² (517ft²).
