Archambault « M34 » selected for ‘Tour de France à la Voile 2011’
William Borel (director of the "Tour de France") has announced that the M34 has been chosen as the next boat for the "Tour de France", replacing the previous boats which were generally known as Mumm 30’s
Excited with the results, boat builder Emmanuel Archambault and designer Alexandre Mercier declared "This is incredible news for the shipyard and the architects. We'd like to thank the "Tour de France" organisers, the sailors who helped us on this project, and dealer network in France and elsewhere."
Meeting the high expectations of the sailors on the 2011 Tour will be quite a challenge.
The moulds of the M34 will be started in September so that by the first prototype can be tested in the Spring, with first deliveries in Summer 2010.
Meanwhile, the "Tour de France" director, the sailors, architects and builder will be working to ensure the M34 becomes the one and incontestable one-design sailboat of the "Tour de France" for the next 10 years.
